The coach has arrived back at school - just after 4.00 pm.
We expect to be able to post some more photographs of our few days in Edale on this blog in the coming days.
Thank you to all the staff who made the visit possible.

On the way...
The coach has now left Edale on the way back to school.
All being well, it is due back at about 2.45 pm.
We wish them a good journey.

Friday breakfast
Breakfast this morning will be the same great choices as yesterday: full English, cereal, croissants and fruit.
Then it will be off to our last set of activities.

Friday morning (early) and everything outside is white
Up bright and early this morning? Why is everything white?
There are plenty of tired individuals today - but the children are really excited that the world has gone white over night
There is lots to do around breakfast time as we need to get things sorted out and packed ready for the coach so that we can enjoy our Friday morning activities.
We hope you have a good morning and you enjoy the snow.
We look forward to seeing you all this afternoon.

Thursday tea
Everyone is back at the hostel after the afternoon activities.
Tea/dinner is pasta bolognaise or pizza - and lots of the children have had some salad too.
This evening we will be breaking into groups again for a night hike or caving.

Thursday morning "early"
Everyone is up and dressed.
Miss White says that everyone slept well and they are all on their way to breakfast. (There is lots of choice at breakfast time: full English, cereal, croissants and fruit salad.)
The weather is beautiful in Edale at the moment - a lovely, clear autumn morning.
Let's hope it stays that way and everyone has a great day.

Good monring Edale!
Who was first up this morning?
Who will be so tired that they don't want to get out of bed?
Who won't be able to find their socks?
There were about 1000 views of our blog yesterday - the great majority from smart phones or tablets. (Not surprisingly, the great majority of visitors have been UK based, but about two percent have come from Ireland or the USA. Only 7% came from machines using MS Windows.)
If you looked at our blog yesterday, do check earlier posts again because, as photos sent yesterday eventually arrived in our inbox, they have been added to appropriate posts we had already made.
We hope they have a great day in Derbyshire.

Earlier today...
When we arrived at Edale, we had an induction session with the hostel staff.
There are lovely views around the hostel.
Wednesday evening activities
Our Wednesday evening activities are starting.
We have split up into three groups - one is going caving, one is abseiling and the other is going on a night hike!

Wednesday tea
Mr Slater says that the afternoon "icebreakers" have been completed.
(I'm fairly sure he is referring to icebreaker activities rather than something to do with the weather.)
It is now tea/dinner time.
The children are choosing from tomato and basil soup, BBQ chicken and rice, cheesy pasta bake or jacket potatoes and lemon sponge and custard. Comment: "very nice"!

Wednesday afternoon (later)
Miss White says that the children settled into their rooms well.
They were very excited to find that their bunks were unmade so it was "interesting" and there was plenty of fun to be had spotting who could make a bed (and who couldn't)!
It has been cold in Edale this afternoon, but the activities around the centre were enjoyed.
Here are the first photos to come through.

Wednesday afternoon
Mr. Slater says that everyone enjoyed lunch.
All the children then went to the dormitories to unpack a little, sort out beds and make sure they had the right clothes ready for the afternoon activities.
The teachers are finding that they have zero signal strength on their phones so communications need to be done through wifi at the hostel which is described as "intermittent".
They will do their best to get information though.

Safe arrival
The coach has arrived safely at Edale.
(The phone reception is very poor - as expected - but we will share news when we have it.)

One more night...
Many of our Year 6 pupils will be going on a residential visit to Edale tomorrow.
We wish them a good night's sleep before their travels... and hope that everything is packed and ready for the visit.
