Wednesday night

Is everyone really settled?

We wish everyone at Edale a quiet night.

Earlier today...

When we arrived at Edale, we had an induction session with the hostel staff.

There are lovely views around the hostel.

Wednesday evening activities

About to go caving...

Wednesday evening activities

Our Wednesday evening activities are starting.

We have split up into three groups - one is going caving, one is abseiling and the other is going on a night hike!

Wednesday tea

Mr Slater says that the afternoon "icebreakers" have been completed.
(I'm fairly sure he is referring to icebreaker activities rather than something to do with the weather.)

It is now tea/dinner time.

The children are choosing from tomato and basil soup, BBQ chicken and rice, cheesy pasta bake or jacket potatoes and lemon sponge and custard. Comment: "very nice"!

Wednesday afternoon... more photographs

Wednesday afternoon (later)

Miss White says that the children settled into their rooms well.

They were very excited to find that their bunks were unmade so it was "interesting"  and there was plenty of fun to be had spotting who could make a bed (and who couldn't)!

It has been cold in Edale this afternoon, but the activities around the centre were enjoyed.

Here are the first photos to come through.

Wednesday afternoon

Mr. Slater says that everyone enjoyed lunch.

All the children then went to the dormitories to unpack a little, sort out beds and make sure they had the right clothes ready for the afternoon activities.

The teachers are finding that they have zero signal strength on their phones so communications need to be done through wifi at the hostel which is described as "intermittent".

They will do their best to get information though.

Safe arrival

The coach has arrived safely at Edale.

(The phone reception is very poor - as expected - but we will share news when we have it.)

They're off!

Our Year 6 expeditionists are on their way!

Have a good journey.
